CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- There was something to squeal about at the Canfield Fair on Wednesday, as kids gathered in the ring with their prized pigs to be judged.

154 kids participated in the Market Swine Judging this year. The pigs are judged on composition, including muscle and bone and how much product the pig could produce.

Seven committee members pick the winners of each weight class. There are division winners, plus a grand and reserve champion.

Committee member Gary Hemphill has been involved for six years.

"It's very heartwarming to me. I've been involved with this for six years now. In the same position, our group has maintained its size or grown over those 16 years, and we're all out here for the kids. We want the kids to have a good time," Hemphill said.
