SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A car belonging to a woman in her 80s who has been missing since April 2025 was found recently with a body inside.

According to SPD, the car was recently found in Normandy Lake after officials were led to that area, which was the last known cell phone ping location of 84-year-old Sara Padgett.

When officers arrived, they found a submerged vehicle with a plate that belonged to Padgett.

After police retrieved the vehicle, they found a body inside and took the body to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. The vehicle was taken to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for forensic examination.
