TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The future of police paperwork in Pima County may soon change with the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI). The Pima County Sheriff's Department recently completed testing of an AI software that assists in drafting police reports using body camera footage.

Deputy Dylan Lane of the Pima County Sheriff's Department shared that writing a police report after each patrol can take him on average "20 or 30 minutes."

To address this, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos tasked Captain Derek Ogden of the PCSD Technology and Innovation Committee with finding solutions to ease deputies' workloads.
