BURLINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Pittsfield native died from an attack in Burlington, Vt., that police are saying was caused by a group of teenagers. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 on Church Street near city hall.
Police said the group of attackers fled when officers approached. Police pursued and detained three teens involved in the incident. One of them was found in possession of a gun that was brandished during the assault.
The victim was identified as Scott Kastner, 42, of Pittsfield. He died in the days following the assault. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
