NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - After Wednesday’s school shooting in Minnesota, WSMV4 talked to the security firm that worked with the Covenant School before the shooting there in 2024.

The firm was in the middle of doing active shooter training for another local company when shots were fired in Minneapolis.

Brink Fidler used to work with the Metro Nashville Police Department. He now studies active shooter events as the founder of Defend Systems. He said by far the most important thing any school, church or business can do is train their employees on what to do.
