WYLIE, Texas — A North Texas school district will lose its superintendent in less than a month.

On Wednesday, Conroe ISD, a district just north of Houston, named Wylie ISD Superintendent Dr. David Vinson as the lone finalist for its vacant superintendent position.

CISD will have to abide by the state-mandated 21-day waiting period before officially naming Vinson as the district's new leader. According to Wylie ISD, he will continue to serve as their district's superintendent until that point "to ensure a smooth transition for the district."

Dr. Vinson has led WISD since 2011. Now, the district will have to search for his replacement.
