OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - For a decade, one investigator has pursued leads and gathered evidence that pointed toward Joseph Ambroz as the prime suspect in the murder of Wahoo High School student Mary Kay Heese more than fifty years ago.
The day after Ambroz pleaded to a far lesser charge, that cold case cop is calling it quits. But he’s not finished with the case just yet.
As Ambroz received a sentence that will have him out of prison by November, the chief investigator on the case stayed out of the courtroom because Ted Green alleges a full measure of justice has not been served.
“He got away with murder, I mean, he’s got away with it for 50 some years, he’s walked around free,” Green said.
