The Fargo City Commission Monday stood by its long-debated ordinance requiring city employees to live within the city limits.

The commission voted 4-1 against making an exception to the ordinance for streets employee Terry Peterson, who recently bought a house in West Fargo two blocks from an apartment where he has lived for eight years.
