Four soldiers have been charged with sexually assaulting a college student last year at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state, officials said.

The victim, who was not identified, “has since commissioned as an officer in the Army,” Michelle McCaskill, spokesperson for the Army Office of Special Trial Counsel, told Stars and Stripes. She was allegedly attacked on Oct. 27, 2024 inside a barracks building on the base, which is shared by the Army and Air Force.

Few other details about the incident were provided.

Cpl. Pedro Angel Ruiz, Pvt. Deron J. Gordon, Spc. Jadon Bosarge and Pfc. Kallon Curiel are now facing charges in connection with sexual assault and other violations of the military’s Uniform Code of Military Justice.
