Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) officials have searched the premises of Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) president Enock Chihana as part of an ongoing investigation into a major tax evasion case involving over MK300 million.

The operation led to the arrest of Rhoda Ndovie, a clearing agent and operator of Limu Clearing, who is accused of falsifying import documents by changing the importer’s name and undervaluing goods imported from South Africa.

In a statement signed by Acting Head of Corporate Affairs Wilma Chalulu, the MRA confirmed that goods linked to the suspect were allegedly offloaded at Chihana’s property in Lilongwe. The search was conducted to gather evidence related to the alleged fraud.

The MRA has indicated that its investigation is ongoing and will lead to legal action again
