MENOMINEE — West Shore Fishing Museum will be open for its final weekend of the summer from 1 to 4 p.m. Central time Saturday and Sunday.
The museum is the restored 23-acre homestead of a commercial fishing family, with both indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Sunday is the summer finale, with a special emphasis on children. Visitors can celebrate the end of summer with a burger, brat or hot dog served by Little Nugget to benefit the M & M Children’s Museum in Menominee.
Kids can participate in rock painting sponsored by the Menominee Area Arts Council and help create a permanent rock snake for the museum grounds.
Miniature horse Chocolate Chip will offer cart rides. Three Golden Floats will be hidden on the trails — finding one and turning it in is worth a $25 cash prize.
