A Wisconsin company that makes power generators and storage batteries could be another big economic generator for Augusta.
City officials are scheduled to join representatives from Generac Power Systems to cut the ribbon on a 500,000-square-foot distribution facility at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 3464 Mike Padgett Hwy.
Generac opened a manufacturing, assembly and distribution facility in Edgefield County in October 2021, near Trenton, bringing 750 jobs.
"The new facility will allow for the more timely and efficient distribution of vital products to customers impacted by weather-related events or power outages in the southeastern United States," the company said in prepared remarks.
