PORT ANGELES — An 85-year-old pedestrian was transported to a Seattle hospital after he was struck by a car.
Richard Boyd of Sequim was injured in the collision, which occurred about 6:02 p.m. Tuesday on westbound U.S. Highway 101 at Lilac Avenue, the State Patrol said.
Morgen Ballinger, 25, of Port Angeles was driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup and was stopped at the intersection when she attempted a right-hand turn and struck Boyd, the State Patrol said.
Boyd was transported to Harborview Medical Center, according to the State Patrol.
Ballinger, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, the agency reported.
The pickup had non-reportable damage and was driven from the scene, the State Patrol said.
The agency cited the cause as failure to yield at a crosswalk.
