As August nears its close, Newark and the North Jersey region continue to enjoy a refreshing stretch of fall-like weather. Stepping outside early Thursday morning, the air feels more like mid-September.

If you’re catching an early bus or train, you’ll notice how comfortable it is. In Downtown Newark, temperatures are holding at a mild 62 degrees under clear skies.
Further north, it’s even cooler, with Morristown waking up at 53 degrees and Sussex County dipping to a brisk 47 degrees.
Today will bring partly sunny skies and pleasant conditions, with temperatures reaching near 79 degrees by afternoon.
