LAS VEGAS — A woman dressed in black pushes a cart across the floor of the Sphere, on it a large cardboard box labeled “Monkey #12.” She mumbles something into her headset as she navigates the cart around heavy black machinery. Within a couple of hours, some of those machines will be emitting tall bursts of flames for dramatic effect. Others will be spitting out bits of brown tissue paper, designed to look like dried leaves whirling in the wind. The winged-monkey prop, along with several others like it, will be removed from the box, inflated and attached to wires allowing it to circle menacingly over the venue’s 17,600 seats.
