COLUMBUS, Ind. – Sheriff Chris Lane added two new Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) merit deputies to the department this week.

Surrounded by their family and fellow deputies, Jennifer Buenrostro and Samuel Miller became the latest BCSO merit deputies at the Tuesday swearing-in ceremony.

Buenrostro is a Bartholomew County resident and comes to BCSO from the Indiana University Police Department in Indianapolis. She will begin the field training program shortly.

Miller also resides in Bartholomew County and was a corrections officer at the Bartholomew County Jail. He will be starting the law enforcement academy in Plainfield next month.
