(Gray News) – Spotify is launching a new feature: direct messaging within the app.
According to Variety , the one-to-one DM feature launches this week for users who are at least 16 years old in select markets on mobile devices.
Instead of sharing Spotify links through text messages or other apps, users can now share music directly with friends and family within the app.
As with any other messaging platform, Spotify users have the choice to accept or reject message requests. They can also block specific accounts from messaging them.
To use this new feature, when you’re listening to something, tap the share icon, select a friend and hit “send.”
You can access your Spotify messages by clicking on your profile photo in the top left corner of the Spotify app.
