Contract negotiations failed to bring a last-minute deal.

Workers walked off the job at midnight Thursday and began picketing at the entrance to the Evendale plant.
The UAW represents 640 employees at its Evendale and Erlanger facilities out of about 9,000 in Greater Cincinnati.
The Erlanger facility is a parts distribution warehouse at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
