A former Honolulu police officer who used his ex­-girlfriend’s daughters to make child pornography and recruit underage prostitutes will spend 23 years in federal prison.

Mason Jordan, 34 , will serve 276 months followed by a lifetime of supervised release. He must register as a sex offender. Jordan asked the court for 15 years in prison. The U.S. Department of Justice wanted Jordan locked away for 30 years.

Jordan repeatedly wiped tears away Wednesday as Senior U.S. District Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi detailed the “complicated scheme” he employed using technology to rape and exploit the girls, who believed he was a father figure.
