HOUSTON, Texas – Two deputies are injured after being hit by a possible impaired driver Thursday morning, according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman.

Herman said two of his deputies were responding to an incident on the Sam Houston Toll Road at Ella when a possible impaired driver crashed into the deputies’ vehicles.

One of the deputies had to be flown to the hospital via Lifeflight, while the second deputy was transported by ambulance.

The toll road is completely shut down while deputies continue to investigate the crash.
