Murtaugh head football coach Chad Young is keeping things simple in his second year leading the Red Devils.

Young feels more comfortable in the role and is focusing on the fundamentals and his team’s strengths. Instead of having a ton of options, he wants to do a couple things really, really well. A focus he hopes helps Murtaugh bounce back after a 1-7 season a year ago.

“You can throw all the plays you want at everybody,” Young told the Times-News . “But at the end of the day if you don’t execute you don’t do well. We’re going to get back to the basics, and I think that’s where our success is gonna lie.”
