ROSWELL, N.M. —
New Mexico State Police are investigating a shooting in Roswell involving law enforcement officers.
Roswell police say officers were called to the 600 block of East Sixth Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday regarding a man inside a home who they say was threatening suicide.

The Chaves County Sheriff's Office was also part of the initial response.
As law enforcement personnel arrived, police say the man in the home fired multiple gunshots at law enforcement, who returned fire. State police said multiple vehicles and structures were hit by the suspect's gunfire.
