A prolific booze thief has been banned from all LCBO stores in Waterloo Region.
The man, 46, pleaded guilty Wednesday to five thefts at LCBO stores in Kitchener and one alcohol theft at a Kitchener grocery store.
“He has a very substantial record that’s very related,” defence lawyer Nick Gehl said in Kitchener court.
The man is an alcoholic who steals booze not for profit but to feed his addiction, Gehl said. His favourite target is the LCBO.
The latest charges were racked up in a one-year period beginning in April 2024. He stole four times from the LCBO on King Street West, once from the LCBO on Ottawa Street North and once from the Real Canadian Superstore on Highland Road West.
