A tough winter is in store for thousands of Scottish households after Ofgem confirmed the energy price cap is due to rise again this Autumn, a leading charity has warned. Energy regulator Ofgem confirmed on Wednesday that the cap on what suppliers can charge households will rise slightly from £1,720 to £1,755 from October 1. The two per cent increase on the current level will see the average bill go up by £35 per year. ‌
