Edinburgh private hire drivers staged a protest on Thursday morning which saw them beeping their horns and travelling in formation as locals watched on

In the form of a 'go slow' convoy, the drivers came together on busy streets to highlight their ongoing issues with City of Edinburgh Council.

The protest was organised by Edinburgh Private Hire Drivers United as the group assembled at Lochside Crescent in South Gyle around 9am.

Onlookers reported hearing multiple car horns "blasting" along Glasgow Road and St John's Road with some motorists hit with delays in their morning commute.

The convoy started at 10am moving at a slow place before arriving at East market Street toward the council offices.

The protest aims to draw attention to concerns including access to bus lanes and bus gates
