CARROLLTON – The last scratch-off ticket turned out to be a giant winner for an Ohio Lottery player who had just finished taking his wife to a round of appointments for her cancer treatment.

The man stopped at the BellStores location in Malvern and noticed the last Best of 7's scratch-off ticket remaining on a roll. In addition to a couple of $5 scratch-offs, he opted to buy the last $10 Best of 7's.

“I like the end of the roll, I’ll buy in the middle, too, but always liked the end of the roll best,” he told the Ohio Lottery.

The man, who wasn't identified by name in an Ohio Lottery news release, scratched the ticket when he got home and realized he had won the top $500,000 prize. His wife was surprised and didn't believe him until he scanned the ticket on the Ohio Lottery mobile app.
