This year’s Holiday Bowl is being played next year.

For the first time in the local college football bowl game’s 47-year history, the Holiday Bowl will have a post-New Year’s Day kickoff.

The 2025 game will be played Jan. 2, 2026, starting at 5 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium. Fox will broadcast the game for the fourth straight year.

The Holiday Bowl, which is looking for a new sponsor after two years as the DirecTV Holiday Bowl, matches a team from the ACC against a current or former member of the Pac-12.

The game has traditionally been held between Christmas and New Year’s Day. The latest previous kickoff was New Year’s Eve in 2018, when Northwestern beat Utah 31-20. The game has been scheduled for Dec. 27 or 28 each of the past six years.
