Taylor Hicks has never forgotten where he came from. Before he won "American Idol" and launched a successful music career, he grew up in the Birmingham area and spent many weekends on East Alabama's Lake Martin. Now, he is going back to give back.

Hicks is giving a free concert on Labor Day weekend on Lake Martin.

The concert will take place on Sunday at 6 p.m. at The Landing at Parker Creek . It is an indoor/outdoor restaurant operated by longtime WBRC sports anchor Herb Winches.
