EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) - Evansville firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in the 1700 block of East Franklin Street.

The call came in at about 6:30 a.m. Firefighters say when they arrived, the fire was in the back portion of the house.

Firefighters also said they were making their way into the attic. Our crew says one person was taken to a hospital by ambulance. As of 7 a.m., the fire was pretty much out.
