Sheetz is reportedly opening a new location — and it’ll be the only one within Pittsburgh city limits.

Known for its audacious marketing campaigns and even serving as a refuge during power outages, the convenience store and gas station will replace the former Rite Aid on Banksville Road in Banksville, according to a post from Kim Salinetro, chief of staff for city councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith.

The announcement comes after Rite Aid declared bankruptcy in May and closed stores in the city and the surrounding area.

In the post, Ms. Salinetro said this is “great news” for Banksville.

“I can tell you I'm thrilled with this development,” she wrote.

Ms. Kail-Smith echoed Ms. Salinetro’s enthusiasm.
