DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- One person died after a hit-and-run on Wednesday in Darlington County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

An unknown vehicle was driving around south around 2:18 p.m. on West Smith Avenue near Martin Street, about 4 miles east of Darlington, when they hit a pedestrian who was also traveling south, SCHP said.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where they later died. No further information about the involved vehicle was available at the time of this posting, according to SCHP.
