DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Record cold is not something we typically expect in August, but a welcome cooldown plunged our temperatures and broke several longstanding records.
Thursday's temperatures broke records in Dothan, Troy, Marianna and Crestview, while Blakely tied a record.

Our cool morning comes as a secondary cold front crossed our area Wednesday, bringing a reinforcing shot of cooler, drier air into our area.
Temperatures started near 60 degrees this morning, and some places even started in the 50s. Troy, Enterprise, Florala, and Blakely were among the places that cooled to the upper 50s.
