ALABAMA (WHNT) — The Transportation Security Administration recently added some cordless curling irons to the banned-list for checked baggage.

The following items are not allowed in your checked-baggage, according to the TSA: • Butane cordless curling irons or flat irons • Cordless curling irons or flat irons • Spare gas cartridges for curling irons or flat irons

TSA said cordless curling irons containing a gas cartridge or butane are ONLY permitted in carry-on bags, and are only allowed one per person. The items must have a safety cover fitted over the heating element.

Corded electric curling irons and hair straighteners are not restricted, the administration said.
