CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- We have an update on a possible agreement between the Champaign Unit 4 School District and the Champaign Federation of Teachers.
Union representatives say their members will be able to see that contract before they vote on it next Wednesday. Teachers in the district say they're shocked to have an agreement this early. If they agree to it, it will then move on to the board of education. If the board agrees to pass it, the teachers will have a contract for the next three years, providing stability across the district -- both for teachers and their students.
"Kids really need that. They do," said grandmother of a student Terrenia Kent. "They need to be taught more education than running around. And, you know, I think it'll help."
