A busy stretch of the A38 in Derby is closed, with police warning drivers to "avoid the area". Derbyshire police issued a statement at 2pm on Thursday (August 28) confirming that the A38 is closed between Toyota Island and Kingsway , on the northbound carriageway.
This is due to a concern for safety, police have confirmed. A spokesperson for the force said: "The A38 is currently closed between the Toyota island and Kingsway on the northbound carriageway, due to a concern for safety.
"Please avoid the area and find an alternative route." Google's traffic maps are showing long delays on the A38, with traffic queuing past Findern Interchange, as well as queues along the A516/A38 slip road.
