Plans to bring the Wooden Shop at Pitcaple back to life have been thrown out over road safety fears .

Jonjochar Ltd wanted to replace the former store that used to sit on the side of the A96 after it was demolished.

It had fallen into disrepair and become structurally weak following spells of heavy rain and strong winds.

The building was later knocked down in 2023 after concerns over its condition were raised by Network Rail and Building Standards.

There were fears that debris could fall from the former shop onto the tracks behind it.
