GEORGIA, USA — Two children are dead and 17 others are injured after a 23-year-old opened fire on a Minneapolis church and Catholic School on Wednesday, according to law enforcement authorities.
The alleged shooter is identified as Robin, formerly Robert, Westman. Authorities said Westman appeared to have taken their own life.
Law enforcement sources said Westman grew up in Richfield and that their mother was an employee at Annunciation School.
Authorities confirmed that two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed in the hail of bullets. Another 17 suffered gunshot wounds, and 14 of those were students. Two of the injured are in critical condition.
The mass shooting has shaken the Minneapolis community and sparked reactions from leaders across the country, including in Georgia.
