TYLER, Texas — Customers who witnessed the fatal shooting of a Tyler taqueria owner testified Thursday that he was attempting to break up a fight in the parking lot and was not approaching the man accused of killing him when the shot was fired.
Thursday marked the third day in the trial of Scotty Lee Goble of Corsicana, who is charged with murder in the death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr., 38, of Tyler. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024.
Goble pleaded not guilty Tuesday. His attorneys are arguing self-defense.
