BEREA — Carson Schwesinger was named the Browns ' Maurice Bassett Award winner Aug. 27 as the top rookie performer of training camp.
Schwesinger, a linebacker from UCLA, said he doesn't believe it's a case of one rookie standing out above the rest. The top pick of the second round in April's draft said it's one class that could elevate itself above the rest of the league.
"Oh yeah, of course," Schwesinger said Aug. 27. "I think we've got a group that, I mean on the field, plays hard, off the field, we do what we're supposed to do. And, like you said, it really could be the start here."
