Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome has been rushed to hospital following a "serious" crash in southern France.
The British cyclist, 40, was admitted to a medical facility in the country after an incident near Toulon on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 27.
His team have since confirmed he was in a stable condition and did not sustain any head injuries when he was admitted.
However, they did describe the crash as "serious," with scans showing the cycling sensation has five broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a lumbar vertebrae fracture.

French newspaper, L'Equipe, said Mr Froome was conscious upon his arrival at the hospital and was able to speack to staff at the medical facility, the BBC reported.
