STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A person went to the hospital from a crash that happened on a major street in Castleton Corners during the Thursday morning rush hour.

The incident was called at 7:54 a.m. in the 1800 block of Victory Boulevard near Lester Street, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY/EMS.

EMS transported one person to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton in an unknown condition, according to the FDNY spokesperson.

The NYPD was among emergency responders at the scene. A tow truck was loading a damaged SUV, a Ford Explorer, on Lester Street.

A dark-colored sedan had damage on the driver’s side of the car

Traffic was back to normal flow on Victory Boulevard about an hour after the crash occurred.

Two NYPD officers could be seen at the location.
