CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Carter County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) arrested a Stoney Creek man on Thursday morning after he allegedly uploaded child sexual abuse material to social media.

According to a news release from the CCSO, investigators received two cyber tips in June 2024. Those tips came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and centered around the alleged uploading of child sex abuse materials.

Investigators reportedly identified the email address associated with the social media accounts and traced it to an Internet Protocol (IP) address.

Jeffrey Edwards, 49, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor after the IP address was traced back to him.
