PHOENIX – The last 60-day closure of an on- or off-ramp for the Loop 101 widening project in Scottsdale starts Tuesday night, Sept. 2, state transportation officials said.

The southbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Raintree Drive will close at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday to allow crews to reconstruct it to fit with the freeway’s wider configuration. The ramp will reopen by early November, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers should consider exiting at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and using the southbound frontage road to reach Raintree Drive, officials said.

The $108 million Pima Freeway improvement project between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road started in January 2024. Crews are adding new lanes in both directions and providing other improvements, including
