Area recorded highest occupancy for same month in past decade
July was good for the high-end hospitality industry in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale.
Year-over-year hotel occupancy in that month increased 5.3%, and the average daily rate went up to $158.09, increasing 2.5%, according to a recent report from CoStar.
Experience Scottsdale says luxury properties in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale recorded the highest occupancy for any July during the past 10 years.
The private nonprofit is the destination marketing organization for the two municipalities. It works to attract visitors, events and meetings to the region.
Spokesperson Stephanie Pressler said the tourism industry is strong right now, particularly when it comes to high-end resorts.
