SAN DIEGO, California — Three fugitives extradited from Mexico appeared in federal court in the Southern District of California, facing a range of federal charges. Pablo Edwin Huerta Nuno, Juan Carlos Felix Gastelum, and Abdul Karim Conteh were transferred to the United States on August 12 under Mexico’s National Security law.

At the hearing, Huerta Nuno, Felix Gastelum, and Conteh entered not guilty pleas before U.S. Magistrate Judge Valerie E. Torres. Huerta Nuno's next court appearance is set for September 19, Felix Gastelum's for September 12, and Conteh's for September 19, according to the U.S. District Court.
