SHREVEPORT, La., (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport City Council is moving forward with new regulations for vape shops following the tragic shooting of a teenager inside a shop on North Market Street.
Shreveport Mayor Arceneaux says the ordinance, first suggested by the Shreveport Police Department several months ago, will require licensing for vape shops and limit entry to those 21 years of age and older. Shops will also face restricted operating hours.
The mayor also highlighted progress on the city’s third police substation, set to open at 70th Street and St. Vincent Avenue in Cedar Grove. The location will maintain its existing park features while serving as a centralized hub for community policing.
