PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Happy days are here again and again and again at Peoria's main airport, which was able to announce another record-breaking month.
For the first time ever, more than 80,000 people used the airport just south of Interstate 474 for their travels.
Officials from the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport said the 80,836 passengers in July was the most ever for a single month and a 26% increase from last July.
The announcements come so often that it is almost expected the airport will tout numbers from the previous month, and July was no different.
"This milestone not only sets a new all-time high, but also continues a remarkable trend, with 10 of the last 12 months setting monthly records," the airport said in a news release
