BUFFALO, N.Y. — As part of New York's ConnectAll's $52.6 million investment, ErieNET will receive $5 million to help expand Erie County's open access fiber network.
The funding will be used to add an additional 42 miles to the county's 400-mile open access fiber network and 82 community anchor institutions including police, fire, and emergency services. The funding will also connect the County's emergency services room in the New Buffalo Bills stadium in Orchard Park.
"This additional funding will enhance public safety across Erie County and connect more residents to quality broadband," said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
Expansion of ErieNET's fiber network is expected to bring greater connectivity to residents and businesses while securing reliable and safe fiber connections fo
