SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
High temperatures climb today ahead of a warmer weekend.
Thursday morning begins pleasantly with light winds under mostly clear skies. This afternoon will be a few degrees warmer, with valley highs in the mid-90s. The foothills will reach the low 90s, while the Sierra sees quieter weather. A stray thunderstorm may develop south of Lake Tahoe, but skies will stay partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s.
As high pressure builds back from the east, temperatures climb further through the Labor Day weekend, with valley highs in the mid to upper 90s. Conditions will remain dry and calm across the region.
Early next week, a small cut-off low moves through, increasing onshore winds and bringing a cooler start to the week.
