TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) -- One of two suspects in a Timmonsville shooting that happened near a convenience store has been booked into the Florence County Detention Center, online records show.

Ja'Tayvion De'Shon Maurice Dickey, 21, of Timmonsville, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Jail records also list other charges, including two counts of forgery and an obtaining signature under false pretenses charge, from 2023 and 2024.

Calvin Danielle Sowells, 37, of Florence, was shot on Tuesday in a parking lot near a Hot Spot convenience store, police said. He went to the store to seek help, and later died, Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said.
